OmniToolbox Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026
OmniToolbox ("the app") is a toolbox for Windows and Android: archives, media conversion, system cleaning, hardware tests and technical support tools. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. In short: your files and settings stay on your device, there is no account, and the app has no analytics or telemetry of its own.
1. Data that stays on your device
- The files you open, compress, extract, convert, encrypt, clean or analyze are processed locally. They are never uploaded by the app.
- Settings, recently used tools, the license state and the trial start date are stored on the device (in portable mode, in the "data" folder beside the program; on Windows the license state is also kept in the user's registry so it survives reinstalling).
- Activity and error logs (including crash details) are written to a local logs folder. They are not sent anywhere automatically.
2. When the app connects to the internet
The app only contacts the following services, for the reasons listed:
- License activation (Lemon Squeezy). When you activate, check or deactivate a license key, the app sends the key, an activation ID and a device name (for example "Windows - MY-PC" or "Android") to api.lemonsqueezy.com. Lemon Squeezy replies with the license status, the plan name and the e-mail address used for the purchase, which are stored locally to show in the app. Purchases themselves happen on Lemon Squeezy's website, under Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.
- Update checks (GitHub). The app asks api.github.com for the latest release of OmniToolbox and, if you choose to update, downloads it from GitHub. GitHub receives the usual request data (such as your IP address). Automatic checks can be turned off in Settings.
- Advertising on Android (Google AdMob). The Android version shows ads until a license is activated. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Before ads are shown, Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform) asks for your consent where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and Switzerland). Google may collect and use information such as the advertising ID, IP address, device and app information and ad interactions to show, measure and personalize ads, according to Google's own policies (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads). Licensed users and the Windows version see no ads.
- Network tools. Tools such as ping, traceroute, port scan, DNS lookup, Wake-on-LAN and file transfer contact only the hosts and devices that you enter or choose.
- Tools that use other services when you start them. For example, the bootable USB tool can download Ventoy from GitHub, the internet connection fix tests connectivity with Microsoft's test address, Windows Update and package tools talk to Microsoft, and "search online" buttons open a web search in your browser.
3. What the app does not do
- No account or sign-up.
- No analytics, tracking or telemetry of its own.
- No selling or sharing of your data.
- No uploading of your files, logs or settings.
4. Support bundles
If you ask for help, the Technical support section can create a support bundle (system information and the app's logs). It is saved as a file on your device and is only shared if you decide to send it yourself. Look at it before sending if you wish.
5. Permissions
- Storage / all files access (Android): needed to open, compress, extract, clean and analyze files you choose.
- Camera and microphone (Android): used only during the camera and microphone tests, while the test screen is open. The camera preview is not saved. The microphone test records a few seconds into the app's temporary folder so you can play them back. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Notifications: to report finished tasks and media playback.
- Install apps (Android, outside Google Play): to install updates you download.
- Administrator rights (Windows): requested only for system tools that need them.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
7. Your choices
You can turn off automatic update checks, withdraw or change ad consent (Android), deactivate your license, and delete the app's data at any time by uninstalling the app or deleting its data folder.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be included in the app and published on the same page, with a new effective date.
